The new 3,500-square-meter Municipal Building in Barangay Cangatba has been completed and officially turned over to the local government of Porac in Pampanga during an inauguration rites attended by Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Pampanga 2nd District Engineer Gregorio Audea, Jr.
Audea, in a statement, emphasized that the new structure replaces the old, congested, and parking-deficient facility, offering more space and improved accessibility for both government operations and public service delivery.
“The building also includes site development featuring a dancing fountain, complete with a light and sound show that people can enjoy. This attraction provides a pleasant space for the public to visit and relax,” Audea added.
The first phase of the project, which began in 2021 with a budget of P93.5 million, covered foundational work, structural framing, and essential utilities, while Phase 2, costing P69.29 million, focused on interior finishes, system installations, and additional features like partitions and security systems.
“Phase 3 included the construction of the GenSet house and Cistern Tank, waterproofing, installation of concrete moldings, an automatic fire sprinkler system, and an electric elevator. Phase 4 featured both hardscape and softscape, the construction of the fountain along with all its accessories, as well as the control room,” Audea said.
Phases 5 and 6, which began in 2024, focused on the finishing touches, including carpentry, metal structures, office furnishings, electrical works, and construction of necessary utilities and infrastructure.
With a total project cost of P458.78 million, the new building can now easily facilitate the growing volume of transactions in Porac’s local government, improving service efficiency and providing a more spacious and accessible environment for both residents and government employees.
The ceremony was attended by Senator Manuel “Lito” Lapid, Chief Operating Officer of the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority Mark Lapid, Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, Acting Porac Mayor Myla Clarete, alongside DPWH Pampanga 2nd DEO Construction Section Chief Aurora D. Carreon, Planning and Design Section Chief Gene D. Gonzales, Project Engineer Bryan Reyes, and other officials from the district office and local government units.
